Converse CTAS 70's Ox Neon Wave Shoes
Arriving as part of the Neon Wave capsule, the Converse CTAS 70's Ox Shoes have updated the traditional cotton canvas upper for a woven Jacquard fabric which features hints of black contrasting through white. The canvas tongue pays homage to their classic style in crisp white to continue the tonal upper, while a black fabric strip at the heel completes their boardwalk ready silhouette. The midsole takes influence from the most recent collaboration with Off-White, favouring translucency even across the wide foxing-tape. Although looking great, these perform even better thanks to a vulcanised rubber sole for both improved traction and boardfeel which helps lead to greater consistency in tricks. The rubber toe cap removes stress from the traditionally high-wear area, thereby improving durability. Finally the sockliner has been updated with an Ortholite insole, a performance based cushioning which provides impact protection.
Marquis Mills Converse founded the Converse Rubber Shoe Company in 1908 in Malden, Massachusetts. After around ten years the roots for the original All Star design were created as a rubber soled basketball sneaker. The shoes continually were updated as technology improved, until 1970 saw the release of what we recognise as todays traditional Converse. Since then the shoe has equally modernised, featuring skate-worthy functional details with their classic style.
